Protecting Your Personal Information

Never respond to emails asking for personal information.
If you need to update your information online, use the normal process you've used before, or open a new browser window and type in the website address of the legitimate company's account maintenance page.

If a website address is unfamiliar, it's probably not real.
Only use the address that you have used before, or start at your normal homepage.

Always report fraudulent or suspicious email to your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Reporting instances of phisher site spams will help get these fake websites shut down before they can do any harm.

Most companies require you to log in to a secure site.
Look for the lock at the bottom of your browser and "https" in front of the website address.

If you have any doubts about an email or website, contact the legitimate company directly.

United Texas Bank will never send an unsolicited email asking for personal information.

UTB Security Measures

Transactions made on the United Texas Bank Web site are absolutely safe. UTB and our technology partners use only the latest technologies to ensure that online access is secure for our valued customers. You can be completely confident of the following security measures:

Secure Communications

All information exchanged between your PC and our computers is encrypted. In other words, Secure Sockets Layers (SSL) utilize mathematical formulas to "encrypt" or hide information from prying eyes on the Internet with 128-bit encryption - the strongest encryption available. In addition, if the system detects that data was added or deleted after you sent it to the bank, it will sever the connection in order to guard against further tampering. The most popular browsers have the SSL security feature built in.

Secure Environment

Our computer system does not connect directly to the Internet. Instead, it is isolated from the network via a "firewall." A firewall is a combination of software and hardware products that designate parameters and control and limit the access that outside computers have to the bank's internal network and databases. You can feel secure knowing that our firewall protects your personal information from unauthorized access.

Secure Login

Your Password and User ID can never be accessed or downloaded by anyone on the Internet. They are isolated from the Internet by being stored on UTB's computer. Since user passwords can vary from five to ten characters, the chance of randomly guessing a password is less than one in 1 billion! The system also checks for invalid logins and automatically disallows a user after three invalid attempts. This prohibits a "hacker" from gaining access to our system and further protects your account information.

Your Password

Your password is one of the most important security measures. When you receive your UTB Online Access password, please keep it a secret. Memorize it or write it down and keep it in a safe place. Please do not carry your password with you. Ensure that no one watches you enter your password and always close your browser when leaving the computer. It is a good idea to regularly scan your computer for viruses that could be used to capture password keystrokes. You ultimately hold the key to your password security. Not even a bank employee knows your password.
